Biography & Philosophy
Alyssa Yeung has been immersed in the world of music since the age of 5. They began with piano lessons and later on, studied classical voice. Her education was surrounded by wonderful teachers at l’École de musique Vincent d’Indy and McGill's Schulich School of Music. They obtained their Bachelor's in Voice Performance and graduated on the Dean's Honour List as part of the top 10% of their cohort.
As a teacher, Alyssa believes in catering lessons to each individual's learning style. She is determined to create a safe environment and allow space for students to learn, grow, fail, and make mistakes.
Teaching the basic fundamentals and techniques are pivotal for every student. Nonetheless, Alyssa’s mission is to help them also understand what lies under the surface of the musical page. Only through both aspects can one truly connect and feel music.
Therefore, Alyssa strives for a balance between technique and artistry with an eagerness to bring innovation in education. She is constantly finding new ways to teach her students, understand how they think and learn, and help them reach their fullest potential.
