As a kid, I always loved to sing and felt an immense connection to music. However, being shy, I would be too scared to sing or play in front of other people. I would secretly sing to my heart's content while no one was around. Music was a way for me to express and free myself. As someone who did not take up a lot of space, it was my way of making my voice heard and expressing who I truly am.
